The weather forecast predicted a very strong cold front to pass through on Sunday, and rather than gamble on our next anchorage being protected enough, we decided to stay with what we know and keep our spot in Nassau. Several other boats who were planning to head out on Saturday made the same choice and the anchorage has filled up with even more boats who showed up this afternoon; so this seems to be a popular choice.
Those cruise ships that came in on Friday were gone by Friday night, but Saturday brought six more. We had a blast of a day people-watching on the Nassau port. This place really comes to life on Saturday night, and currently we are sitting on the boat listening to the Nassau youth cruising up and down a nearby street. The night is also filled with comedians and musicians from nearby outdoor bars, but nothing can drown out the sound coming from the cars as they cruise.
We've had a lot of fun today and hope Sunday offers as much sight-seeing and people-seeing as our Saturday did. We hope to add some pictures before we leave to our deserted island days next week.
