Happy Thaksgiving!

Better late than never, here are some Caribbean 1500 pictures:

Our start was cool and sunny with light winds. This was the most we saw of anyone, by the next morning we rarely had a boat sighting.




We caught a mahi mahi (dolphin) along the way. Isn’t he pretty! Micheal and Jeremy grilled him for dinner that night.





We were caught in a trough right ahead of a strong cold front for most of the trip. This gave us light winds, flat seas…
and spectacular sunsets.




We had a brisk sail coming into the Virgins and crossing the finish line. A little rail meat was actually necessary.





The crew of Splendido has arrived in Tortola







Splendido took third place in her class!

After saying goodbye to Jeremy in Tortola, the rest of us went on to do some snorkeling at The Indians, anchor in the pristine (yet rolly) Trunk Bay on Virgin Gorda, and had an illicit after dark visit to The Baths.

We finally ended up in the US Virgin Islands, where Mike, Reinhart, and I said our goodbyes to our gracious hosts (GH), Michael and Daniel. We had a magnificent time with no tests of courage or patience.

Reinhart and I have been enjoying our few days home, seeing friends and family, and stuffing ourselves silly on Thanksgiving. Now we are preparing to hop on a plane and spend the last 6 weeks of our vacation in Austria. We hope you all had a wonderful holiday and we’ll be updating the blog as we frolic in Europe.
