Back in Tortola

When we left the Caribbean in May we really didn’t think we’d be back again so soon, but here we are in Road Town, 7 days, 23 hours, and 16 minutes after leaving Hampton, VA. We have no idea how we’ve done in the rally; the organizers will have to pick up our log books and factor in hours motored and our handicaps. We motored less than most of the boats but more hours than a few of our top competitors; we’ll just have to see if our particular strategy paid off or not. Of course, some of the folks who didn’t motor much will be arriving in a couple days while we are getting ready to head out to a nice dinner out, so we are feeling pretty satisfied with ourselves at the moment. We didn’t have any rough weather; however, many of the boats in the rally encountered severe squalls. We didn’t have as much wind as we had hoped for, but our weather stayed beautiful and the passage was a breeze.
