New name and new plans for 2007

Okay, so I deleted the entire Blog off the internet on December 9th! Blogger got it back for me, but not along with our original address, which appears to have blog-napped. So, here’s our old Blog at the new address. As you must already know, the new address is sailmaiatoeurope and that’s because it’s the new plan. Our current strategy is to leave the triad on December 28 for Beaufort and to leave Beaufort by New Years. We’ll head south along the coast and by the end of January we’ll be sailing from Florida to the Bahamas. We’ll spend February in the Bahamas and make our way to the Caribbean by March. We’ll spend March through mid-May in the Leeward Islands. By mid-May we hope to be on our way to Bermuda, our first leg for crossing the Atlantic. We’ll hang out in Bermuda for a couple of weeks and then we’ll be on our way to the Azores, leg two, by early June. We think we’ll spend several weeks in the Azores before we head to the Mediterranean, the third and final leg of our Atlantic Crossing. I expect we’ll arrive at Gibraltar, the entrance to the Mediterranean Sea, by August. From there on things get much less planned; we’d love to do everything we can while we are in the Med: Spain, France, Italy, Greece, Croatia, Turkey…but we may not have the time to do it all, we’ll see. We also hope that we’ll be able to spend the whole winter there, and spend some quality time with the Piuk Family before coming back to the US in the Spring; once again, we’ll see.

We’ll try to update the blog as much as possible and let everyone know where we are and what we are up to. As always, we hope to see friends along the way. But for now, We Hope Everyone Has a Very Merry Christmas and a New Year Filled with Joy and Adventure!
