We are on our way...sort of

There was a bit of a delay. We moved Maia to Oriental, NC last Sunday to have her hauled out on Monday for some last minute work. We came back down to Oriental on Wednesday and she was still out of the water and we snapped this picture of her clean hull. We went back home to Greensboro and sold the Mini on Thursday to a very nice gentleman! On Friday Mom and Dad picked us up and delivered us to Oriental at 6pm on Friday evening...about 30 minutes after Maia was put back in the water. We did some last minute shopping on Saturday and had our touching farewell with Mom and Dad. We spent the remainder of Saturday evening getting her ready to set sail today.

So we awoke this morning to thunderstorms and are still trying to make up our minds if this is the day we are leaving. Curretnly it is clear and we decided on a 2 pm departure, but with more thunderstorms in the forecast and a small craft warning through this evening, we just can't make up our minds if we are casting off this afternoon or early Monday morning. No matter what, we are headed straight up to Annapolis rather than spending any more time in NC.

Sorry we've been so bad about keeping in touch already, hopefully we'll start keeping up with our e-mails and phone calls one we are underway...of course, these first few days we'll be in a desolate part of the NC coast and may not have the best coverage until we hit the Chesapeake.

Also, kommt doch zu uns, hier gibt es seit Wochen keine Gewitter :-)))

    Liebe Grüße
